More Raptors
This red-tailed hawk was having quite a time trying to keep several turkey vultures from stealing his lunch.

Accipiter striatus?
Here's a little hawk that hunts in the walnut orchard everyday. This behavior plus it's size and tail markings leads me to think that it's a sharp-shinned hawk. But I'm not sure. My raptor identification skills leave something to be desired.

Bugs!
Recently, I've been looking at some possibilities of painting a variety of local insects. I've always liked insects: as a boy I was an avid collector.
Spiders are great too, but they seem harder to draw for some reason. I'll try to do some tomorrow.

Cache Creek Clean Up
After a large section of one of the main structures fell into the creek, the "Friends of Cache Creek" volunteered to remove the debris. They came out early on a Saturday morning and removed all the metal roofing material. It looked like quite a chore -i.e., hauling it up the side of the levee on their backs!
Thanks!
